Materials

Suede

The outer material of the Makra Light GTX is made of suede. Suede comes from the base of the animal skin. It has a velvety appearance and feels soft. Suede can be waxed, but it can also be left untreated.

Mesh

The outer material of the Makra Light GTX is made of mesh. Mesh is a synthetic material that is made in different shapes. The use of mesh makes the shoe light, flexible and highly breathable.

GORE-TEX®

The Makra Light GTX contains a GORE- TEX® membrane. The GORE-TEX® membrane ensures that these hiking boots are waterproof, but remain breathable. This keeps your feet dry while walking.

Insole

The Makra Light GTX has a standard insole from Hanwag. This is a quick-drying, removable insole that contributes to extra comfort while walking. The standard Hanwag insole is also available separately in our store and on our website . We also sell custom insoles that provide extra support.

Outsole

Like many other walking shoes, the Makra Light GTX a VIBRAM ® outsole. Vibram soles are known for their high quality and durability and are therefore often used in hiking boots. These soles ensure good movement of the foot. The profile of the sole has been developed in such a way that it provides good grip on different surfaces. In addition, the profile of the sole is self-cleaning. This means that the sole does not retain mud and soil. Because Vibram soles are wear-resistant, they last longer than other soles. This version of the Vibram, the Vibram Makra, is very sturdy and stable due to the special insole part in the outsole. Due to the accompanying Hanwag Zone Lock, the joints require little or no use when walking with these shoes.

Can be resoled

If the sole of your walking shoes is worn out, they need to be replaced. Worn soles pose a risk while walking.
