Nubuck leather

The outer material of the Bellavista MFS is made of nubuck leather. Nubuck leather comes from the lightly sanded top layer of the animal skin. Sanding makes the leather feel softer, increases breathability and gives the leather a velvety appearance. Nubuck leather can be waxed, but it can also very well be left untreated. Waxing nubuck leather does make it darker, smoother and shinier. When you inject nubuck leather with a spray that contains wax, you treat this material in the best way.

GORE-TEX®

The Bellavista MFS contains a GORE-TEX® membrane. The GORE-TEX® membrane ensures that these hiking boots are waterproof, yet breathable. This keeps your feet dry while walking.

MFS

The Bellavista MFS contains the Memory Foam System (MFS) developed by Meindl. This MFS is a kind of foam layer that is processed around the ankle part of the shoe. This gives the ankle extra support. Under the influence of body temperature, the MFS adapts completely to the shape of the foot. This ensures that the Bellavista adapts completely to the shape of your feet.

The Bellavista MFS has a removable insole from Meindl. This insole contributes to extra walking comfort and is also available separately. We also sell custom insoles that provide extra support.

Outsole

Like many hiking boots, the Bellavista MFS has a VIBRAM® outsole. Vibram soles are known for their high quality and durability and are therefore often used in hiking boots. The Vibram soles ensure a good transition of the foot. The profile of the sole has been developed in such a way that it provides good grip on different surfaces. In addition, the profile of the sole is self-cleaning. This means that the sole does not retain sludge and soil. Because Vibram soles are wear-resistant, they last longer than other soles.

If the sole of your hiking boots is worn, they need to be replaced. Worn soles are a risk when walking. Because the profile of the sole disappears, the grip decreases and you slip faster. It's just difficult to say goodbye to walking shoes that fit perfectly and with which beautiful trips have been made. Especially if you have always maintained your shoes well, the upper material of the shoe will last longer than the sole. The walking shoes may still look fine, but because the sole is worn out, they are no longer used for walks. With a heavy heart, hikers say goodbye to their favorite shoes.
