water column

The water-repellent capacity of clothing is often described in the form of millimeters of water column. The water column says something about the amount of water pressure a substance can have per square centimeter before it starts to leak. This poncho has a water column of 2000 mm. This means that the substance leaks through when it is under pressure from 2 meters of water.

materials

Polyamide

Polyamide, also called nylon, is a synthetic material that is made from petroleum. Polyamide is a strong fabric that does not tear and crease easily. It is light, elastic, easy to fold and dries quickly.

Green Shape

Vaude's Green Shape label indicates that the product has been produced in an environmentally friendly manner and under fair working conditions.

Eco Finish

The poncho is produced without the use of environmentally polluting fluorocarbons (PFCs). The use of PFCs in the textile finish ensures that clothing becomes water, dirt and grease repellent. An alternative finish without the use of PFCs has been used in the poncho. This makes the product water and dirt repellent. Only an oil repellent effect cannot currently be achieved with a PFC-free finish.

Blue Sign

The BlueSign label indicates that no harmful substances have been used in the production process. Companies with a BlueSign label are obliged to draw up a sustainability plan that pays attention to water consumption, energy consumption and waste management. BlueSign also has guidelines for safe and healthy working conditions, but this is not specifically checked.

Fair Wear Foundation

Fair Wear Foundation is committed to better working conditions. They have developed a code of conduct for this. Companies that are members of the Fair Wear Foundation must commit themselves to improving working conditions.
