Hiking boots
When you go for a walk it is important to have good walking shoes, which is why we offer a wide range of walking shoes for both men and women. Each shoe has its own specific properties, such as water resistance, air permeability, light weight, etc.
Some of the brands in our range are Meindl , Hanwag , Lowa and Salomon .
Hiking boots
Men's hiking boots come in different variants. From supple and light to sturdy and somewhat heavier.
Hiking boots are divided into categories, which represent certain types of shoes and types of hikes. Below is a brief explanation of the different types and features.
Characteristics category A
The shoes in category A are light and all-round hiking boots and casual shoes for flat terrain, such as forests and asphalt.- Light and flexible hiking boots.
- Intended for day walks on good trails.
- Available in a low and a half-high variant.
- The sole is extremely flexible.
Characteristics category B
The shoes in the B category are so-called trekking shoes. The sole of this B-shoe is stiffer than the previous category. Suitable for mountain hikes with a light pack. They provide sufficient support and protect the ankles.- Also known as the trekking or mountain hiking boot.
- The walking comfort of a sports shoe and the sturdiness of a mountain shoe.
- The sole is stiffer than with the A-shoe.
- The upper is a bit firmer than with the A-shoe.
- The high shaft gives support to the ankles.
- Especially suitable for longer and multi-day hikes with luggage, as long as there is a path.

Category C includes shoes that are used for trekking through fairly rough terrain, for which the soles of previous categories no longer suffice. The biggest difference with the previous category is, in addition to the much stiffer sole, also the stiffer upper. Ideal for mountain tours at higher altitudes.- Intended for trekking through rough terrain.
- Significantly more robust than the B shoe.
- Suitable for short use with crampons.
- The sole bends only a little, but is pre-shaped for a good transition.

Heavy crampon-resistant shoes with a stiff sole. Specially made for heavier climbing in high-alpine terrain and for ice climbing. We do not sell this type. This is too heavy for normal (mountain) hiking.- Heavy mountain boots with a stiff sole.

Kids Hiking Boots
It is also important for children to have a sturdy shoe on their feet while walking. That is why we also have a wide range of walking shoes for children. Below is a brief explanation of a number of points that you can pay attention to when purchasing children's walking shoes.
Kind of walk
To begin with, it is important to take into account what kind of walk you are going to do. Is it a forest walk or are you really going into the high mountains?
Shoes with a flexible sole and a low shaft are ideal for shorter and fairly easy walks/tours. Rigid soles are not necessary on surfaces such as forest soil and asphalt.
But when it comes to rougher walks, we recommend that you take shoes with stiffer soles, and certainly shoes with a high shaft. The advantage of a stiff sole is that the shoe does not bend completely with the surface, which gives your feet more support. The high shafts of the shoes protect your ankles against sprains, so you can walk more smoothly.
Additional features
Of course there are even more differences between the hiking boots. Take the waterproofing, one shoe is water-repellent and the other shoe is completely waterproof. Water-repellent is sufficient in most cases, but if you really have to cross streams and rivers, we definitely recommend waterproof shoes.
It also differs per shoe how much it breathes. With many shoes, a lot of attention is paid to this as it is an important aspect of a shoe. If a shoe does not breathe, this means that your feet will quickly get very warm, and shoes will also start to smell faster. Breathable shoes let air and moisture out and therefore stay cool and fresh for longer. Hiking shoes for kids are therefore ideal!
